Mark Kalkanajian
Mark grew up in the New England area of the U.S. and learned to surf in the cold waters off Maine and New Hampshire. The best surf is always in the winter up there so you really have to be a hardcore surfer to paddle out in those conditions. Mark, or Marcos as we call him down here, has surfed the East Coast, California, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, both the Carribbean and Pacific Coasts of Costa Rica, and even Canada in the Great Lakes. "Having taught surfing in the Nosara area for over five years, teaming up with the professionals at Nosara Surf Academy has made the teaching experience so much more enjoyable and rewarding" says Mark.
