Nosara, Costa Rica is quiet little beach community located in the Pacific northwest province of Guanacaste. Off the beaten track, Nosara is approximately 45 minutes from the nearest paved roads. For that reason, Nosara has fortunately been spared the huge influx of large hotels and big businesses unlike many other popular surf towns in Costa Rica like Jaco and Tamarindo. Nosara is home to all the necessary amenities and conveniences that you have become accustom to in the U.S.. Internet access, satellite television, hot water and electricity are all part of day to day life here. Nosara has well qualified doctors and pharmacies, banks/ATMs, car rental agencies, world-class hotels and restaurants, and just about everything you may need to make your vacation a comfortable and enjoyable one.
That being said, Nosara is also about as close as you can get to being in the “jungle”. Nosara is part of a National Wildlife Refuge that prohibits building anything within 200 meters of the beach. So when you are out surfing the beautiful beaches of Nosara and you turn to look at the landscape, it is truly “where the mountains meet the sea”.
Nosara is also home to many other activities other than surfing. In recent years, Nosara has quickly gained the reputation as one of the best locations for Yoga and Pilates. The Miss Sky Canopy Tour is the “longest zip line in Costa Rica”. The sport fishing in and around Nosara is some of the best in the Pacific Ocean. The Playa Ostional Turtle Refuge is the second largest in the world for the olive ridley turtle. Horseback riding, river and ocean kayaking, waterfall trekking and ATV tours are just some of the other activities to enjoy during your time in Nosara.
